“The Vienna Chamber Diaries” is a fusion of my two musical souls – Jazz and contemporary classical music – into one project. The music is a blend of subtle chamber music, high-energy improvisation, groove and intricate polyphonic writing.
The project was launched in 2012 (mentored and produced by Wolfgang Muthspiel). In April 2018 the second album was released on Lotus Records. It's a bit more groovy & funky then the debut and again features outstanding musicians from both the classical and jazz world:
Johannes Dickbauer – violin
Florian Eggner – cello
Christian Bakanic – accordion
Sebastian Schneider – piano
special guests on the album:
Klaus Gesing – soprano saxophone, bass clarinet
Mahan Mirarab – guitar
Martin Berauer – bass
Bernhard Schimpelsberger – percussion, konnakol
and Plattform K+K Vienna
Kirill Kobantschenko, Bernie Mallinger, Aurore Cany, Florian Eggner
The VCD debut album was released in 2012 on Wolfgang Muthspiel´s Label "Material Records".
It features Johannes Dickbauer (vl), Florian Eggner (vc), Christian Bakanic (acc) & Gwilym Simcock (p) as well as special guests Wolfgang Muthspiel (g), Klaus Gesing (ss, bcl), Matthias Bartolomey (vc), Thomas Frey (fl, picc.fl, a.fl) & Paul Kaiser (ob).
