Program Notes:

When Bob Brookmeyer first heard this piece he commented ‘That’s a heartbreaker right there’. Falling is probably one of the most deeply felt compositions I have written in the last years. It’s a rather melancholic piece with a beautifully lyrical soprano sax theme in a medium/slow swing feel. Its delicate flow, rich harmonies, sensitive lines as well as its intense climactic moments grasp you from the first note.
